Relationship Satisfaction Questionnaire

The items on this scale describe important components of successful relationships. When you complete this questionnaire think about your own relationship and how you interact with and feel about your partner. We also recommend that you ask your partner to complete the questionnaire, so you can compare your scores and see how you feel about each other. Needless to say, to key to find out how you really feel about each other is answering all questions honestly.

Your total "Relationship Satisfaction" score is:

Below you will find a guide to interpret your score. If your total score suggests that your are not satisfied with your current relationship, you might consider counselling.

Scores 0 - 8: Poor Relationship
If your score fell within this range, than you are deeply dissatisfied with your relationship and you are unhappy with your partner. Counselling is strongly advised.

Scores 9 - 14: Average Relationship
If your score fell within this range, than you are in a functioning relationship. You and your partner experience average difficulties and under most circumstances you can resolve such issues. Those on the lower end (with scores close to 9) may experience transient dissatisfaction with their relationship and would need to work on specific areas to improve how they interact and value each other.

Scores 15 - 20: Good Relationship
If your score fell within this range, than you are enjoying a mutually respectful and satisfying relationship. You and your partner understand each other and you are working together like a team. You are able to provide support for each other when needed and the two of you can resolve difficulties with ease and understanding.
